Car Calcs, some usefull stuff
Over the years I've been doing tons of math while upgrading my car. Everything from which valve spring to which gear ratio to what throttle body.
I've compiled a bunch of calculations into a spreadsheet that I thought I would offer up. Its nothing overly special, you can find most of the stuff on the web. But its nice to have a copy so you can save the calculations.
Here's what it has:
Engine size Calculation
-input bore/stroke/cylinders and get ci
-also has ci to L and L to ci conversions
Engine CFM and LB/MIN calcuations (great for boosted cars)
-Input engine size/engine VE to get CFM
-Input IAT and get LB/MIN
-N/A cars use 0psi boost
-Calculates up to 25psi boost
-Also has psi to ATM conversion
Tire Diameter Calculation
-Input tire size to get sidewall/radius/diameter/circumference/Tire Width
-Calculations in mm and in
RPM vs Speed
-Input Tire Diameter/Rear end ratio/Transmission to get your speed in any gear
-Has pull down menu for many popular trannys or you can add your own
-Shows speed in all gears at all rpm
Cam calc
-Input cam durrations to calculate valve overlap
Valve Spring Calc
-Input Valve spring parameters to see pressure created
-visual aid for picking a spring and adding spacers
Pipe Sizes
-Chart of cross sectional area of pipes, single and dual
-Helps determine if you want a single 3.5" exhaust or dual 2.5"
This spread sheet comes in an Excel file. If you shoot me a pm with your email address I'd be happy to ship it on to you. It the least I can do for all the people that have helped me on this forum.
