Ok, I've run into a pole ... don't ask ... I wasn't going very fast, good thing or it would be worse.
I pushed in the Drivers side turn signal light and ... the big thing ... I cracked the front bumper, straight thru, between the turn signal and brake vent intake.
Is there any repair for this ?? Or do I need an entire front bumper ??
I was able to reseat the turn signal, but the crack, of course reamains.
I do use the front end bra cover so you can't even see the crack, but I know it's there.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
Sorry, no pics.
Yes cracked bumpers can be fixed. To make the best repair the cover will have to be removed. Then a patch is bonded on the backside. Then on the front side the area around the crack will be tapered with a grinder and filled with the proper bumper epoxy filler. 3M makes some great products for this purpose and when the proper steps are followed it will be a very strong repair. The best part about repairing vs replacing is the paint can be blended over the damaged area without having to apply basecolor over the entire bumper. This will keep your current color match to the body. Depending on the color if the entire bumper is painted the chance of a mismatch is great.
