Default Horns not working

3 months ago I went to honk my horns at someone cutting me off. They stayed on for 10 mins. Its a common embarrassing prob after reading threads here. I already read the thread of taking the airbag out ect and replacing that metal part but thats not the case here...

I had the relay out and fuse for the past 3 months until I could get them fixed. I put the relay back in 3 weeks ago and it now clicks on and off normally I guess that metal connector inside the steering wheel behind airbag finally gave way and fixed itself for now. But, now the horns do not sound at all. I took out the horns behind the headlight in engine compartment, and smelled them and they smelled burnt. I believe the coil inside of them may have burned out from the horn staying on for 10 minutes but,

I bought a pair off of someone here from a wrecked car a while back that had 20k on it. They didnt smell burned and they looked new. I installed them and put my relay and fuse into the motor compartment fuse box and when I push the horn on steering wheel all I hear is the relay clicking on and off properly as it should but still no sound out of my horns?

The relay is good and is no longer stuck on all the time from the connector under the airbag because of me hittingthe horn so hard. The fuse is also good. What am I doing wrong?

I even put a test light to the horns and pushed the steering wheel and it flashes on and off as it should, thinking the horn is sounding. Is there another fuse somewhere for the horn? Possibly under the passenger side mat 2nd fuse box?

Or is it possible these horns are also bad which it would be hard to think they had the same problem as mine. The ones I bought do now smell burned and look new. I got them off of a person on this forum. Please help!

I have come close to 2 accidents from stupid drivers here in Florida and cannot use my horn to warn them

If you're getting 12V at the horns, the problem is at the horns, not a fuse.

I'd try hooking them up directly to a 12V source to be sure and/or if you have access to a shop manual, it likely will have state acceptable resistance range across the horns' terminals.

Ok it does sound like the horns themselves are bad again maybe they were also bad from the beginning. Does anyone have a pair that is tested and works or a new pair? Thanks

Default After Market from J.C. Whitney catalog.

Got tired of chasing ghosts n the machine, and also tired of cruising with no horn,, just put in some $59.95 trumpet style electric, hooked up the switch near the hood release, seems awkward but actually not bad at all.
