Default underdrive balancer

Im reinstalling my underdrive balancer that worked its way out about a 1/4 inch. Does the balancer when all the way on, set flush with the end of the cranshaft? Thanks,Guys

Should be about 1/8" from being flush with the end of the crank.

When you draw it on with the bolt (or preferably a threaded rod and nut), you should definitely feel when it bottoms out on the shoulder of the crank.

If your old bolt loosened up, causing this, make sure you replace the bolt and don't just re-tighten the old one., or it will happen again.

I received the arp bolt today.Do i need to put loctite on it before installing? When you torque the bolt, plus the degrees, what do you use to measure the degrees? Is it acceptable to just guess on how many degrees you have torqued? Thanks

Since you have pinned the crank you have resolved the root cause of the balancer walking off.
Just use lube on the ARP bolt and torque to 180-190lbft and your good to go!

190 lb-ft with ARP Assembly Lube on threads, washer and under head of nut. This after you have re-seated and followed the GM procedure using the old bolt.
