Electrical Information Lights Dim
Hey Vet Friends I Have A 1998 Coupe Automatic,and When I Press The Window Button My Headlights Dim And Flick Also My Interior Lights Flick And Dim Also When I Press The Window Button.what May That Might Be. And Thanks Alot For Your Time And Help.

Hopefully Bill Curlee will post on this as he is the electrical expert here. Will guess though he might mention and hopefully show his pictures of the door jam connection tube where the wiring goes through. Apparently its notorious for having wires short to the frame there...so you might open it up for a look.

Sounds like low battery voltage/alternator to me. When you hit the window switch you are placing a large load on your electrical system. Hence, your lights dim, flicker until the load is taken off. Have your alternator/battery checked.

The only thing is don't take the Autozone or Oreilly's test as gospel. I have seen them say a alternator or battery is good when it isn't and visa versa. I like to put a multimeter on the battery or alternator and create a load by turning on accessories in the vehicle such as a/c, headlights, wipers etc.

Check your battery terminals for tightness, you should not be able to turn terminals by hand. Only torque to 11 ft-lbs, overtorquing can cause leaks, and your computer is below the battery.
