P1153 code

Anyone know what causes this? If so, how did you fix it? Looking for experience to come on in here. I'm sure other folks have had this happen. Thanks!
"The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) activity for 60 seconds. During this time , the PCM counts the number of times that the HO2S switches from rich to lean, and from lean to rich. When the PCM determines that the HO2S did not switch enough times, DTC P1133 or P1153 will set.
A lean to rich switch occurs when the HO2S voltage changes from less than 300 mV to more than 600 mV. A rich to lean switch occurs when the HO2S voltage changes from more than 600 mV to less than 300 mV. This diagnostic runs once per ignition cycle."
I've seen it a number of times. A computer tune should get you squared away. If not, it's possible it's a slow O2 sensor but I'd bet on the tune.
I added small holes to the sensor shield for more access to the actual sensor-see pic

solved the slow response problem for me.
caution when drilling you can not hit the sensor.
this has worked for 1 & 1/2 years and still going strong.
