Default **HELP** Oil Pressure Sending Unit

Ok I have made at least three posts on this. I am on, oil pressure sending unit #3. All units read around 100 psi without the car running.

Connections are clean and dry. What are the odds of thee Sending units being bad?

Any ideas out there what else it could be???

I have heard you have to tighten them just right or you will have a problem.

15 ft-lbs torque and make sure the connector is clean of all oil. Some say the NAPA replacement part works better.

Good Luck, you are due for some.

Do they read any oil pressure with the ignition on and the engine off? If they do the sensor is bad. If no pressure reading, your sensor is okay, look elsewhere for problem.

They all read around 100psi with the ignition on. I even took the last one and just grounded it out on the block and connected the wires. No way I got that one to tight..

If it is a GM part, it carries a 12/12 warranty. The dealer should give you a new one for free if you purchased it there.

By all means, if you bought it from GM, return it so they start getting a record of these failures. I relocated mine and have zero problems since.
