What is a normal life for a 2001 tire pressure sensor?

Probably 7-8 years depending. I'm replacing my 99 this tire change.

I've read that they last about 5 years, I am replacing mine on my 02 when my new wheels come in next month just to be safe and because Gene Cully has them on sale (free shipping)

My first sensor in my '01 started going bad at this time last year... ( 29 degrees out now) but was fine all summer. It is again showing xxx So it looks like 7-8 years is correct

Looks like guys are getting way better than that. Mine are still good at 5 years.

Probably because you live in TX/CA
Batteries last longer in a warmer climate. the East Coast guys may not do so well.
Its also mileage related. The sensors only work when the cars moving. Do you have a low mileage Vette?
