Default Blowing fuses help!! Please!!

Well, we just repaired my broken tranny and put everything back together last night. On my way home I went to signal and a fuse blew, so we figured we would look at it today. Well today we noticed the blinkers, hazards and brake lights dont work. We pulled the fuse #8 (20amp) and it was blown. We replaced it and hit the brakes and it blew, lol so we replaced it again and hit the hazard switch and it blew. So right now the turn signals, brake lights and hazards dont work. Everything else works as far as we could tell. Also I dont know if it was because the car sat for 3 weeks but my remote (factory alarm) doesnt work, dont know if it has anything to do with it, so I thought Id mention it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

PS...This is on our 99.

Sounds like you have pinched a wire some where during your tranny reinstall. I would go back over everything that was removed and look for broken/pinched wires or harnesses.

Yeah thats what I was afraid of considering the wiring (most of it) is above the torque tube Any other ideas??

with Bill.

You have a short circuit in the wiring.

Of course the most logical place to look at would be all the wire harnesses that were involved in your repair.

The tranny harness wiring that runs to the rear plug-in could be the problem or maybe the grounds. Did you tighten them up ? They are located in the rear fender wells.

Well just got back from my buddy's house (he has a lift) I dont know if the wiring just got bunched up above the torque tube or what. We noticed some of the clips for the sensors seemed to be short or stretching, well we took the H-pipe off and removed the plate below the torque tube and pulled on the wiring (we moved it a good 3-4 inches) we then replaced the fuses and everything works now Man its a relief to get it done, I hate electrical problems. Now I can finally drive the car after almost 3 weeks. Thanks for the help guys.
