"Service ABS, Traction Control, Active Handling" fix
I had this problem going on for months, and it got bad enough that it would error out every time I started the car. I pulled the codes and got C1243. I read a thread where it mentioned the ABS pump has a "use it or lose it" feature.
so I kept restarting the car until the error didn't show up and went to an empty parking lot and got moving then stood on the brakes. This caused the "service error" to go off, but then I just restarted the car and the code was cleared.
So I went down the lot again and stomped the brakes, and got the error again. So I restarted and did it again... no more errors.
It's been three weeks since I've done this and have not had a single problem since.
Don't be surprised if it comes back again. I had the same issue. Error kept coming back over time intermittently, and I finally figured that if it was intermittent, it must be electrical. Unplugged both ends of the jumper harness to the wheel, and cleaned the connections and used dielectric grease, which gave me weeks of no errors, but they always eventually came back. Finally swapped the jumper harness with the one of the other side of the car, thinking that if the error switched to the other side of the car, it was probably a bad harness. Error ended up going away completely, and hasn't come back in two years now. I'm pretty sure it was just a bad connection at one of the connectors and swapping them side to side resulted in slightly different connection points resulting in a better connection.
