I read another post that mentioned the new Crane Gold Quick lift rockers, and wondered if anyone had any personal experiece with them. I went to the web site and like I read in the post, they claim good hp gains (but everything does). I've looked at aftermarket rollers for a while, but didn't want the excessive wear from the 1.8s and the "excessive amount of work' to install of some of the others.
Has anyone tried these rockers and have any hard # to back them up?
1.8 crane rockers gained 18 hp and 15 ft.lbs. tq. on my setup. I installed them prior to the first H/C swap, results were on stock heads with 900 miles. Have 12k miles on the car now, with mods in my sig.

Did you have to change your springs ? Would you need to retune for this small difference or those the computer relurns ?
Which Crane rocker setup. They now have two. One setup is the Gold stud mount and the second is the full shaft setup but this setup requires quite a bit of work to the head for fitment. I am currently running the Golds.

I was looking at the stud mount 1.7s. As I mentioned, I don't want to go to the 1.8s because it would give me too much lift (for me) with my cam, and was really just looking for a quick bolt on for a few more hp.
It looks like Smask got some great gains for just a rocker change, but he's running the 1.8s (I might have to try those on my wifes car after we install the headers I'm giving her for Christmas ( )
yes, I installed a set of 832 crane springs and retainers with the 1.8 rockers. after the test I replaced the stock heads with a set of PP heads with the camshaft. At 3k miles, I changed to the current mods in my sig with AFR heads and all the other stuff. AFR's work, period.
I didn't do a dyno run after installing the crane 1.8's on my 2000,
however I did notice that the valvetrain was a little quieter and the mid range torque seemed to be alot better (somewhere around the 1800 to 3000 rpm range).
And you do need better springs, I switched to the comp 918's. I know some people have had issues with their 918's, but I haven't had any with mine.

I'm glad to hear this, AFR's are going in next spring
I didn't have any luck with the Crane 832's, the Dart heads come with PSI 1511 beehives, one of the better springs I have come across and they will rev way past what I need.
