Default Windshield Wipers?

My 99 Vert needs new wiper blades. What is the best kind to get? Does anyone buy OEM blades? Or WalMart ones? I want the best for my black baby...

Replaced mine w/ Bosch 22 40722A Micro Edge from local Auto Parts Store. Not expensive and work great!

I just replaced mine with the OEM blades, but I don't get them from the dealer. I bought Trico Exact Replacement 22-1 blades from Advanced Auto Parts.

I used the Teflon coated units (Trico I believe) from NAPA. Cleaned the glass well, used Rain-X (have been for years) and the wipers are practically silent in operation. I like them very much.
Btw, Rain-X tends to lengthen the overall life of the blades because many times you either don't need them at all or use them very little when raining.

I haven't put Rain-X on my Z yet, but I have used it on all the other cars I've owned for the last 10 years or so. The only drawback is the slight haze it leaves. LoneStarFRC - do you have a technique for application that reduces/eliminates the haze? Thanks.

Guess I'll have to try the Teflon units and Rain-X... my wipers were very noisy yesterday in the rain (I don't know what brand or how old they are - they were on the car when I bought it in Aug).

I think the key to haze and Rain-X is to use less Rain-X. Rain-X recommends two applications initially, but either way (single or double application), a little goes a very long way. Of course I get the glass as clean as possible first using glass cleaner, etc.

I have the silicone Rain X blades. Talk about silent operation! You never hear them. Combine that with Rain X on the glass and you never have a drop left.

I actually picked up some from WALMART (Not their brand ) but they are TRICO I believe and they work great!

It's always good to replace them yearly!

Thanks,Matt

Works for me. I'm still amazed at how little it takes and how long it lasts.

I use the rain-X washer fluid. Works great, applied when needed and never to apply by hand.

With my 2000 Blazer I go to the dealer and get AC Delco blades @ $10.00 each. I will do the same with the vette I guess.
