now im a little confused.i thought the walbro 340 was an inline addition to the stock pump, but Im learning its intank, does it replace the stocker or work concurrently with it, or what ? Its application is on a c-5 422 which with 42 lb injectors should be ok on moter, then a TNT wet kit on top of that starting with the 100 jets and eventually going to 250. any suggestions ?
Skeeter,Your stock fuel pump should be fine for your set up on motor only,it's supposedly good to 525 rwhp,if your going to spray anything on top of that you need an independent fuel system for the nitrous.
Mike, when you say independant fuel system what is involved ? is it as simple as adding an inline pump to allow for increased pressure when spraying, or what.
Skeeter,Cartek will be installing an independent fuel system on my car in the spring,I don't know exactly what it will consist of but it will need to handle 650+RWHP with the spray.I would call Jung Performance in Ft.Lauderdale, they have quite a bit of nitrous experience and see what they say, whoever does it they better know what they're doing or you'll lose that motor.I'm lucky to have Julio from Cartek rigging my car as I've been to Pat Musi's shop and seen Julio set up 1000 HP nitrous systems.I wouldn't let anyone else touch my car with nitrous.
there are a bunch of aftermarket pump suppliers but mainly, they have knowledge/experience building FP's for carbureted cars. This essentially leaves the market open for a high pressure/high volume in-tank unit that is rated for constant duty cycle.
Anybody that has specs on the currently available, high performance pumps, please post them.
Nick told me a little bit on the 422 set up with direct port Nitrous. Their will be a dual pump in the tank and a separate system for the N20. It will have its own fuel cell and pump. You will run high octane fuel in this tank. I don't know how big the fuel cell is. I think it will go in one the rear storage compartments. I need to get the Engine in and running and then I will work on the fuel system.
I just want to drive my car around the block again :cry
Hope to get info´s about that dual fuel pump!!
(Maybe MAttG sees the post :))
Seems to be enough for me with heads/cam and 150 NOS!
And later I may have to do an extra fuel cell also.
I can look how your´s works :D
Keep me updated on your engine and furlsetup!!!
