Could someone please inform me which red top is the correct one for a 2001 Z06.Can you put the 800 cca 10in. or must you use the 720 cca 9 in. The stock is 735 cca The Z is an Apr.29th 2001 born car. Thx
Did you try the OPTIMA website? They are listed on the main menu page in the column to the left. They are a site supporting vendor.
According to their "find your battery" link, your '01 Corvette takes a 75/35 battery series. The link to the recommended batteries is here...

I would recommend the 34/78 (800 CCA). I've been using this one as have many others here for several years.
On a battery, a good rule of thumb is to use the highest CCA battery you can afford regardless of brand.

I agree with Hotwheels57, it's your car and your money.
I also agree with Lonestar57, 34/78 800 cca will work just fine.
My thinking is if you got plenty of money get the Optima, but if you are trying to spend you dollars wisely than this is the way I would go:
34/78 series battery is 150% cheaper than the Optima. Go to a local auto parts store and purchase one. These batteries are top of the line with 120 minutes of reserve time, where the optima is 90 minutes. Less reserve time means the battery will go dead quicker. 34/78 series battery normally carries a 2 year free replacement with pro rata up to 72 months. This battery is side post and top post for easy jump starts or extra hook up points for audio equipment. This is where the Optima is similar you can also get side post and top post with the Optima. The 34/78 is a 10" battery, which will fill up your battery compartment. You can go with an Advantage 75 series battery with the same CCA, but only has side post and does not take up the whole battery compartment for easy cleaning. I've probably shared to much, but I had time. Take care and good luck! Oh by the way, I have the advantage 75 series, which I only paid $59.95. All my important electronics on the car are receiving the correct voltage.

Is that Battery an AGm or Gel type with no free liquid? I just put in my second red top, first one lasted 5 years. I don't want to take a chance on BA leaking.

A 34/78 should work, but you may have to use an optional clamp to mount.
...save money on a battery to use on replacing the computer and vacuum lines when the acid leaks...
I keep some baking soda in the fridge and give my batteryray a bath occasionally

Had the MELTED vacuum line problem with the OEM Delco. Heard good and bad about Optima. But don't think I need to spenmd $150 for a battery. My Sam's special works fine and I do as a precaution mix up a gallon or two of warm baking soda and water and liberally apply it around the battery and cabling underneath. Haven't had a re-meltdown of the vacuum lines in about 2 years. BIGHANK
I will never put another conventional battery in my Vette. One battery leaking acid onto the PCM and wiring harness is plenty. Whatever your brand of choice, get an AGM battery and save you or the next owner of your car the trouble of cleaning up battery acid and replacing the PCM.
