02 Differential Oil

02 Differential Oil
Changed my differential fluid last night and installed Amsoil. The fluid that came out was "blue" and the Amsoil was also "blue". Anyone know what the factory is installing? Is it synthetic? Did I just waste some more money :crazy:

Wasting money is what some of us Vette folks do best.... :jester I don't know what the factory uses, but Amsoil is a good choice for your car. Did you add the limited slip fluid too?

I spoke with Amsoil tech support. The additive is already in the 2000 Series gear oil so it is not required. I also did figure 8's last night and the rear was silent. I am very pleased with the oil. What I didn't know is that it is the same base oil as Redline, but has been tested to all the requirements such as those required by GM. I think Redline has good products, but am unhappy putting in something that has not been thoroughly tested.
