To change over from an A4 to an M6 you had better have some very deep pockets:
Clutch/Flywheel Assembly
Torque Tube Assembly
Transmission
Clutch/Brake pedal Assembly
Shifter Assembly
I may have left some things out, but you get the idea.
I put stock z06 size (1inch wider than stock) & offset wheels on my car.
If you much wider, you will need to change offset &/or add mini tubs. My rear wheels stick out right at the edge of the fender well.

Just my thoughts anyway.........

A mod that offers good benefitsyou might want to consider a good set of long-tube headers.
'If you do not care about 1/4 mile times or speed stay out of the motor and programming. That is my advice. No reason to go there
and using boost of anykind will eventually break something on a car. It is an endless cycle of strengthening and fixing if you are actually using the boost."
Travelingypsie says: You can have your auto beefed up to shift CHEAPER than swapping for a M-6. Also welcome to the forum. As far as mods.....are you looking for performance or looks? If performance, the first thing I did was intake & exhaust. The more air in & out= more hp. If looks, rims......chrome.......chrome rims.......
DGrant posted a thread:" 300,000 miles and counting". I dont think he did much of anything except enjoy 300,000 miles of driving his stock C5.
I just spent the whole night and half of today taking the factory coating off of my 2000 Wheels.
When I first bought my (2000) Vette, I went out and put a MagnaFlo exhaust system on it. Then I tinted the windows. Then I painted it. Then I put new tires on it and had it tuned.
My headlight gears had to be replaced. My left power window motor broke.
DougBFresh says:Why would you buy one with an automatic and then want to do a 6 speed swap??? Why didn't you buy a 6 sp to begin with??? It will cost you thousands to convert it, probably a fair percentage of what you paid for the car. You might want to spend the money on other things. Wait to see if the car has any of the more "common" problems like oil pressure sensor, Tire pressure sensors, leaking transaxle, column lock problems, ABS/Traction control issues, high oil consumption.... You might need to drop a few bucks into it to get it right 1st.
So, in summary: Maybe all you REALLY want is a REALLY COOL looking and sounding Vette. Maybe you dont know what the hell you want yet. Just drive it, keep reading these posts on this forum (and others)
Educate yourself a bit. You may end up saving a load of cash when its all said and done.
Thats my Two Cents.

I.E., stall converter, tranny cooler, gear ratio, stall settings, tuning...
Yo
Congrats on the new car and have fun. We have one customer that does about 10 road race days with a A4 so it is more versatile than you might think.
Converting A4 to MN6 is not cheap. Best bet is to find a MN6 guy that wants to go to A4 (usually 1/4 mile guys) and then do swap.
Otherwise a set of 3.42 gears in the Z06 carrier is a great option without spending a ton of $$$$. You can also add a yank convertor if you have the extra $$$.
