I have a '01 C5 and my wife has an '02 C5. Her '02 has check Active Hand & ABS on info center. Her car has about 39,500 with large drilled rotors and Z06 Claipers. Friend hooked his dianostic comp to it and it said we had C1214 code. His computer said we would have to change the controler at left front of engine. Went to small Chevy dealar, they said Controler would be about $875 + labor. Is this about right or is there a better way??

man, research this stuff. This has been talked about over and over again.
You got stainless brake lines? ground the calipers.
If you don't figure out the problem, there is absolutely no guarantee that the $875 fix will get it either.
You just have to research this one on your own bub. My fix turned out to be grounding the calipers. Others have needed new jumper wires. Don't go spending the money without doing a lot of research first though.
I agree that a search would have given you a lot of info, but I'll point you in the right direction. A C1214 code (which by the way, you can read on your DIC without any diagnostic computer. See this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ight=DIC+codes) generally is a fault in the ABS/AH/TC assembly you referred to. The assembly has two parts, the EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) which is an electronic computer and bolts to the BPMV (Brake Pressure Modulating Valve) which is the actual Hydraulic valve that controls ABS, Active handling, and traction control brake application. Both parts are expensive, and the BPMV is a pain to replace, as it requires disconnecting brake lines, and then cycling the ABS valve using the dealer's Tech 2 computer. The EBCM is much easier to replace, being just a bolt in assembly with electronic connectors. It can also be rebuilt for about $150. See the following thread for about 20 pages of info on this problem and various solutions. The later pages have info on how to get your unit rebuilt.
