I'm new to Corvettes and just picked up a '99 FRC with 53k on it.
Here's my problem:
I just filled the gas tank up (14.7 gallons) and the range on the fuel gauge is reading 181 miles. The gas gauge however is reading full. The last few times I filled it up the range said 380-407. Any ideas?
Also need to make sure your not having a problem with the "fuel average
memory" Mine would reset itself after first starts in the morning. This
was a sign I was having electrical issue turned out my battery was
going bad. I replaced the battery and have no more "fuel memory" issues.
You need to reset the average miles per gallon. The range comes from this.
Thanks. That makes sense because the previous fill ups were on the trip from NY to Va, where the average miles per gallon was higher because of the interstate miles. The average miles per gallon now are lower due to the city miles I have put on it. I reset the average miles per gallon and it reads "low", but I haven't driven it yet.
I'll have a lot of newbie questions, Thanks in advance for ya'lls patience. I'm a Ford guy that made the switch to Corvette. I have a 9 sec Foxbody and an F-350, I'm learning from scratch here. I have already built the ramps and stuff so I can get the car up on jack stands and ect... I've had the car since last Wed.

Brand new battery. I do appreciate the help, I'll take all I can get.
