I know the bulbs and fuses & relay are good, when putting in reverse i get a flash of lights & thats it, is there an adjustment & where is it located,Thanks for any help
you may need a new switch which will be on the trans.
if you could set up a test lamp on the rev wire, and then have someone put the trans in reverse,if the bulb lights then goes out,and you dont have 12volts at the wire, then id say its the trans rev switch.maybe put it in rev then out then back in,give it a workout and watch the meter.
My 2000 became intermittant, they'd work, then not.
Turned out to be the relay contact (position #38 in the underhood fuse center, I think). This relay checked out okay on the bench, and seemed to work, but it had a bit of resistance between the contacts of pins 36 and 87A, and this would kill the current to the BU lights. I just drug a small piece of sandpaper between the two normally closed contacts, and it fixed it.
What this relay does; it's normally closed all the time, and just allows BU light current to flow right through when the reverse gear switch is activated. It only switches to provide another current source for the BU lights when the key fob unlock is used (approach).
To be sure that's not the problem, just short pins 36 & 87A on the relay socket, and try the BU lights then.
Your profile isn't filled out, so I don't know if you have a manual or automatic. They have different b/u switch setups. Sounds like everyone else either knows or assumes you have a 6 speed.

Its the back up switch on the transmission. I'm on the 3rd on the Camaro.
Heres the pic
Its a 5 minute job. Pull the connector, unscrew the sensor and replace with the new one reconnect. Just be ready with the new sensor as you pull the old one as the fluid will weep a little.
