Default BBK SSI better than FAST ?!!?

Check this out:

http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_07...old/index.html

And know the FAST:

http://www.cartechbooks.com/vstore/s...=3048&CATID=21

I know these aren't the same tests but the BBK looks pretty impressive and for almost half the price!! What does everybody think about the BBK?

I would worry more about HP/Dollar. BBk seems to do pretty good. Can't comment on much of them. Wonder what the competition would be like if it were the same size as the fast for still half the price

I just can't believe the price of FAST. Its just a piece of plastic. I know that the aluminum will retain more heat but if it makes more power out of the box for less $ it has my attention.

Unfortunately, until someone designs, produces, and markets a better performing piece of plastic, they kinda have a strong hold on the market.

Do you have a link? Any comparisons? I would love to see the ugly FAST intake dethroned!

Just like the other 1000 products to have "Claimed to do something, and "Claimed" to make more power, and "Claimed" to be cheaper..

I have yet to see a company to advertise their company as "Just as good" or "Not as much power but cheaper"

These companies know they can sell 5000 pieces before the story gets out that they might not be as good. Why?? Because internet chatter makes the part out to be something thats its not. People can see a graph and think its gospil. So why in the hell is the company gonna try and stop that.

Case in point: I was the Natl sales manager for Dynojet Reasearch for 3 1/2 years. The guys in our jet kit department used to take the Dyno graphs that they generated off of a given motorcycle, and import it into photoshop. They would then sit there and "Clean Up" all of the dips and spikes in the graph.. Now all the customer saw was a perfectly smooth graph. Do you think the customer EVER asked if the graph was doctored?? Nope.....

I will believe it when I see it...

Make 10 back to back pulls with one of those BBK's and watch the power degrade further and further, serious heat soak issues

The new weiand is due out in march 650$ for a 1 piece composite manifold that accepts both 90mm and 75mm TB's. so far it seems like it does make more power then a ported fast under 6k, but above 6300 or for big cube motors FAST will still make more power, that is if you can actually get it to not leak...

I gained 25 RWHP with a Mamofied 90 mm Fast Intake & ported LS2 TB. This is on my 2001
Z06 that was making 409 RWHP with the stock intake & TB.

Check out this post.

If the speculation is correct, 08 will be a very interesting year as far as intake manifold wars. FAST has never had any real competition, this may be it. It also seems to be a better fit and finish with no need to cut the firewall or move things around like with the FAST.
