Default Intake Manifold Advice

I am getting ready to put a new cam in my 2000 C5 and plan to replace the intake manifold. I have read several threads indicating an LS6 manifold is the way to go for a mild cam, but I already have a BBK throttle body (80mm) which would fit a BBK SSI manifold. I can get a BBK SSI a little cheaper than a new LS6. What do you guys think?

My vote: LS6 Intake Manifold. Perfect fit for the small to medium size cam IMHO

There are alot of other threads about this right now. I think everyone agrees with a ported FAST 90 with a ls2 throttle body. I have them both. CAn't complain.
but I would go with the ls6 mani. I just read that the bbk has very ineffective port design. I'm sure some professionals will chime in.
Good luck

Just ditch the mild cam and get a bigger one,a ported 90mm ls2 throttle body and a ported fast 90

I'm very pleased w/ my bbk set up I would say it is at least comparable to a ls6 and ported 78mm tb.

Heat soak is maybe 10-15 deg hotter after a 30 min track run in july taken w/ IR thermometer.

Headers will make the biggest difference w/ your cam. Its easy to change the intake mani, but headers are a B unless heads are off. If you have the heads off mill them to bump compression. This will give you more hp and tq for the $.

I have a 2000 with a baby cam and Ti mufflers.
I installed an LS6 intake, and saw 12 HP and TQ, even saw gains down at 2000 rpm. From my research here, the lS6 is as good as it gets for mildly modified engines, and a bigger TB does not really help until you get pretty radical too.
Best performance option, trade the TB in on headers, and install a slightly bigger cam than planned to go with them - Ha.
