A few days ago, my battery positive cable decided to pull an intermittent disengagement. Just a click on attempt to start. No tools. Manual twisting force got enough engagement that it started right up. I've had battery power loss before and know that this usually throws lots of codes because all of the modules in the car are monitoring voltages. Any time there is an unexpected voltage (too low or too high) and a code will set.
Today I found DTC code B2809 for the BCM. I wrote it down, cleared it and it has not returned. I suspect the battery problem the other day. Then I went to my service manual to see what this code is. IT'S NOT IN MY 2002 SERVICE MANUAL!!!!. I came to CF and did a search. Only found one other post with this code and it also was a battery related problem. That person also cleared the code and it hasn't returned.
I went to DC (the other corvette forum) because they list all the DTC codes for every year C5. It may be here on CF but I can't find it. Over there, I searched in every single year 1998 to 2002 (my car is 02). B2809 is not listed for any year!!!!
What is this code?????? Obviously it's a secret code that GM reserves for those with the secret decoder ring.
Hey, guys. I have the B2809 Code in my 2002 Convertible. Just installed the LMC5 Module. Installed a New 3 year battery. I don't have the Pull key, wait 10 seconds message. But I do have the Service column lock message. I have rechecked my installation and checked fuse 23. "All okay" I haven't installed the brown wire yet. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.
I'll give it a go. I'll let you know if it fixes it. finger crossed.
Did the Brown Wire Mod fix it? It didn't fix my "Service Column Lock" issue. I still get that message at every single start up (though everything still works normally).
