Next time it happens watch the "security" light to see if it's on steady or if it's flashing, the flashing would indicate a VATS problem.
VATS stands for Vehicle Anti Theft System, everytime you insert your ignition key in the resistor or pellet that is on the key is read by the BCM to make sure it is correct, if it's not correct the BCM triggers the "security" light to flash.
