Do it. Install the intake, trace around the filters with pencil, then cut some holes inside the traced lines to give the filters access to cool, dense air that is built up in the radiator cavity. Much better than the air in the engine compartment.

You should be ok when it comes to ingesting water. You would have be submerged in at lease a foot of water. I'm running the "Ice Box" for my Blackwing and have no water problems.

JUST CURIOUS. WOULDNT THIS TEND TO REDUCE THE POSITIVE PRESSURE AT THE FRONT OF THE CONDENSOR/RADIATOR COILS THAT FORCES THE AIR TO PUSH THROUGH TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, COOLING YOUR LIQUIDS?

I wouldn't do it, As someone else said water will come up there and your filter will suck it right up. I am sure it will work with no rain, But if you get stuck in a hard rain you will be SOL...

well i did it different i cut an upside down u then i pushed the flap down put mesh screen on the flap and behind the flap. when the air goes from under nieth it hits the radiator then comes back well when it comes back down it goes through the flap an into the filters theres no way water can get it. wait till i take a pic you see what im talking bout im gona try to get one today. it looks pretty cool i havent drove it yet i dont have any seats there at the upholstery shop.

I did something similar, but with my setup, air is rammed into the filter, much like a C6 Z06 or Vararam setup. I've drive in heavy rain and the worst that happened was the bottom of the filter getting a bit damp. The filter is not fully enclosed, so hydrolocking is almost impossible. You can see my procedure for this here:
