yeah rotella t seems to be the ticket for break in. My diesel sure loves it! i may switch to Rotella synthetic...the numbers look pretty darn good and the price-performance to the dollar cost is very good at Walmart!

running that new 15/50 heavy duty stuff Mobil One just came out with ( more ZDDP) .
Red Line has lots... Patman on LS1tech (widely regarded as the oil expert) recommended it to me when I asked him about an oil with a high zinc and moly content.
That MSDS is for all of their motor oils, they contain the same amount of zinc didingalingadingdong whatever regardless of weight. I broke my stroker in on Rotella T 15w40, and at the 5K mark switched to 10w40 redline per Patmans suggestion. I also run the Wix 51042 filter. Livernois Motorsports (Site sponsor) carries it, I'm close enough I can just go in and pick it up when I need it. They stock that Wix filter too, but I discovered the local parts store is cheaper for the filter
I've got the Rotella T in there now. Waiting on my heads so I can start it for the first time. I got a 2 1/2 gallon paint pressure pot, the necessary Earl's fittings and a 3' -8AN line. Hooked up the fittings and hose between the pressure pot and the front oil galley plug, hooked my compressor up with 50psi in it and opened the valve. I'll run the Rotellla T for the first 5K then go to the RedLine 10W-40 afterwards. I can get the NAPA Gold filters locally, so I'm going with that.

BTW, I used to use RedLine 5W-30 in my h/c 346 until I toasted it.
