This may be a dumb question. I am going to install a new Jvc head unit,air/fuel gauge, fuel pressure gauge,a nitrous pressure gauge,LC-1 wideband, and a cartek line/loc, which i assume will all need to be wired to a switched power source.I know that there is a switched power wire under the passenger side floorboard. Can i wire all this up to the 1 switched power wire? Same question for the gauge lights, can they all be hooked to 1 light wire? I know nothing about wiring, but i think i can handle this with a little guidance. Thanks, guys
Not sure I'd want to add all that extra load to a single power source.
There are 2 sources down in that area. You can use fuse #22 which is free. i slotted in one of the adaptors you can buy from autozone. It has the bayonet fuse type connector which plugs staright into the fuse slot and has a wire attached to hook up to.
The alternative is the hook up in the footwell. if you look in the passenger footwell, pull out the cover and look in the top left corner. There's a small plug with three wires (orange, yellow, & black) that are taped up. The yellow wire is the switched source
If you know nothing about wiring, I wouldn't suggest you start on your Corvette. You're libel to burn it to the ground.
That said, whatever wire you chose to switch the items, needs to have a relay in circuit, so as to be able to provide enough current for the multitude of items you are putting into service.
If that sounds Greek to you, find an electrician, or pick up some basic electronics books and educate yourself.
