Need someone with a good eye for porting to let me know if this looks SAFE and reliable..... Looks like a WHOLE lot was taken off.... but what do I know?: Nothing!
I am in the middle of installing these, and need to know if this looks normal before I continue....
They look fine if your talking about the lower portion of the guide. With a big cam the side to side pressure of the valve stem on the guide may cause the ends to crack if to thin, but they look OK.
Your very close to AFR's new facility in Valencia....
PM me and for a nominal fee I can look them over and flow one of them for you. I will pour an intake runner as well to see how large the port is (an indication of how efficient it is).
We are closed till the 2nd however so Im not sure if the timeframe is an issue....
Either way good luck and I must also mention that MMS has had their fair share of "questionable situations" here in the So. Cal area.

Happy Holidays

Would be WELL worth it before continuing the build...Tony is one of the best in the industry when it comes to cyl heads.
Hahaha, yes, MMS did it. I can't wait until the 2nd to have them flow tested, so I have resumed the install. We'll see how it goes, the cam is mild (TR 220/220, .553 114), so hopefully the guides can take that
If it doesn't work out, I'll just pray that it doesn't disintegrate
Thanks to ALL for your responses, I'll finish the job tomorrow morning. And then put some miles on it before having it tuned.
