Default Memory Seat Problem

I just got an 02 Z06 and the memory seating is not working. The seat works fine manually. When I get in the car, I adjust the seat and mirrors to my seating position. After you get out of the car, lock it, then unlock it again the seat moves back as well as the mirrors and I have to adjust them all over again.

When I hold the memory button down to set the memory, 1 or 2, nothing happens. The lights never blink. If I just push them, nothing happens. Is this just a problem in the buttons or is it something more severe? Thanks.

Did you try holding the number button down long enough until the number one light or two light flashes?

It sounds like either the LDCM or the SCM is causing you a problem. First thing I'm wondering is if the rest of the door controls are working normally and if they are, then there are two connectors on the bottom of the driver's seat that interface to the car itself. The 7-pin connector is notorius for causing problems although I don't know if the memory position feedback goes through that one or not. So, I would be cleaning connectors and making sure the LDCM connector is plugged in all the way. Also on the SCM itself, make sure all connections are tight.

Yes, I held the number 1 down for close to 10 seconds and the same way for the number 2 button. The lights never lit up or blinked.

All of the other controls work, the windows, door locks, and mirror buttons work fine, it's just the "memory" buttons that seem not to do anything.

I haven't had that problem, but I agree with the other posters. I've read many threads here on CF with folks finding either corrosion in the seat electrical connectors or they just aren't making good contact. You should also check the electrical connectors on the Left Door Control Module (inside the door - you have to take the door panel off). Also I've heard that some people have found worn wiring that runs through the large black rubber accordian fitting near the hinges.
