Default BBK intake install

I'm going to be installing a new BBK intake this week. Are there any tricks to make the swap easy or is it a fairly straight forward swap? The instructions with the intake look pretty straight forward. Thanks in advance. Laurence

Its a pretty straighforward swap, I would suggest getting a friend to lend a hand when installing it to hold the back 2 intake bolts up while installing it. Remove the pcv lines running behind your intake to allow more room to reach back there and unhook your oil pressure sending unit, map sensor and the small vacuum line thats attached right under the map sensor, and unplug the vaccum line running to the brake booster and pull that hose out when you pull your old intake. Dont forget to replace the back right valley cover bolt with the one supplied, I would also put locktite on all of the bottom plate bolts on the intake cause they will back out. Thats about everything that I can think of at this time, good luck.

98nosvette seems to have covered it all.

You WILL need an 8mm wrench to get the rear intake mounting bolts. there's not enough clearence for a socket wrench.

excellent choice on your manifold purchase, check out this thread, it morphed into a BBK vs FAST discussion...be prepared though there are a lot of "BBKs are yucky" style comments!

The two rear bolts can be held up with bond sleeves that can be made from about 3/4" of 1/4" fuel line slit lengthwise so you can slide it around the bolt to hold it up.
