Default transmission ?

Just need some extra thoughts on the grocery getter mitsubishi. Just recently had the transmission replaced at 64k

A metal noise is heard when the foot is taken off the gas almost as if something is spinning and is loose and touching something.

I thought it could be the fan at first but then realized it happens as soon as the gas pedal is released.

Any thoughts? shift linkage ?

Heat shield? Is it a bearing noise?

The dealers just down the street.

Well it is a Mitsubishi question in a Corvette forum.

Is the tranny a manual or auto?
What RPM's does this happen at?
How many miles since tranny replaced?
Does it get driven hard?

Go to a Mitsu forum then. You asked a question, I gave an answer. I cannot help it if you do not like the answer. You are the person who knows all, so I do not understand why you cannot figure it out without asking, when in the end, you'll be taking it to the dealer

It is a transmission question. Rpms do not matter. The noise will occur when you take your foot off the gas. SO my question is what is occurring when you are not on the gas with the transmission.

It has been 2 weeks with the supposedly new transmission installed. NO it is not driven hard.

It is an automatic

And I thought you were being a smart ash telling me to go to the dealer when i'm simply making conversation.
