I'm a new c5 owner, had it for a couple months now, and the DIC is telling me it's time to change the oil (9% remaining). I've searched for a faq or a sticky but couldn't find anything.
I want to do it right and I remember reading somewhere that there is a strange jacking procedure required to get all the old oil out of the pan.
Is there a step-by-step how-to thread on how to change the oil in these cars?
You could wait until it says 0% if you want to. You need to have the rear slightly higher than the front to get it all out.
Happy New Year!

Jack the front up...undo the drain plug, as it drains lower the front and jack up the rear. Let it drain in the position mentioned with the back end up higher than the front for about 10 minutes or longer while you have a beer or coffee. Lower the rear...jack the front..install drain plug...remove filter...install new filter...fill with 7 qts of new oil.
Check for leaks..reset DIC for new "oil life"...
Enjoy
I was wondering if I could just back the rear end up onto my rhino ramps and maybe jack up the front a little?
Also, is there any special adapter I need to get my torque wrench at the drain plug?
I put the front wheels on the rhino ramps than I use the jack straight in from the back with a small piece of plywood under the aluminum sub frame or whatever the heck it is. Look under the back and you will see what I am referring to.
I'm thinking if you back your car on to Rhino ramps, you will have NO room to get the jack under the front end. I have 4 jackstands and a nice low profile jack as my car has been lowered.....ACTUALLY, so low I have made a "mini" ramp from two 2x10's (each side) to get the front end up high enough to get the jack under. Lift and place stands under suspension frame (just inside of A-arms), then go lift the rear and put jack stand at same position...BUT, be sure to have the back HIGHER than the front. Now your car is off the ground, the rest is up to you.
