Changing from stock runflats to upsized Nitto non-runflat tires. Going with 255/40/17 & 285/35/18. Nothing particularly wrong with the runflats, they have 23K on them, yet still look fairly new. Hope it's not a waste of $$$$$$$$!

Tires do make a difference.
But I don't know about the NITTO's... I only run them at the drag strip.
There may be better choices for you.

I can't comment specifically on the Nittos, but my car is a completely different animal with the Pilot Sports than the runflats. I had zero traction with the runflats, but now I can hook up much, much better. Part of that is the tires, part is the size difference.

Course, I still have a traction problem, just not as bad :)

Some forum members just love their Nitto's.

Hey Spencer,

You're doing the right thing, trust me. You'll notice a traction increase as well as a noise decrease with the Nittos over the EMT's. There are more expensive upgrade options but I don't think any will hook up better aside from drag radials.
