Default Dynatech headers installed

Installed Dynatech SuperMaxx headers, hi-flow cats and X-pipe on my 2000 C5. The system came complete with hardware, gaskets, O2 extensions. Absolutely everything you need. The finish on these SS long tubes is to perfection. I am an occasional DIYer, had only 16 inches of lift and did it by myself. From the top I removed the alternator, coil packs, cylinder head covers, and spark plugs to give me clearance. The passenger side header went in from the top with only removing one bolt on the starter (loosing another) to move it just slightly. Just a few twists and turns and it slid down alone the AC lines. Lack of a second set of hands, I used a small wooden block between the head and one AC line, to push it out of the way. The drivers side header went in easily from the top (contrary to Dynatech instructions which wanted 30 inches of lift and installed from the bottom). I only had to remove one bolt for a grounding strap from the engine block, released the fuel line to rails and removed the steering shaft connector bolt to shift it to the side. The rest of the installation went smooth with the install of the hi-flow cats with a nice donut ring connection, bongs for both sets of O2 sensors (supplied extensions needed for front and the rear wires simply needed to be pulled rearward by unclipping the connector from frame and re-tiewrapping). The X-piped alligned perfectly with the exhaust. I can't say enough about the fit of this system, and the relative easy of the installation. I didn't set any speed records, but that wasn't the objective. Including a good cleaning of everything I touched, and just taking my time to assure it all got back together again, it took about 12 hours of stress free wrenching over three sessions from lift up to set down.

Default Header Install

Can you feel the extra power with the long tubes and how is the sound level now? I am installing long tubes next week.

I have the BB Bullet exhaust and in the spring I will be adding the headers and X pipe, how does yours sound now and what kind of exhaust do you have.

Have you driven he car yet? Any codes pop up due to the less efficient cats? I have heard you need the rear 02's tuned out even if you use high flow cats.

Where did you hear this? Are you saying this applies to al LT applications, or just Dyna's?

I hear this often reading about other folks header installs right here on this forum. It has less to do with the header and more the cats. The OBD2 system monitors converter efficiency via the O2's and the high flow cats are apparently less efficient to the point where it can trigger the CE light.

I have B&B Rt 66 exhaust. The new sound is deeper but not by a lot. Haven't driven it far. But no codes so far. It's supercharged, so I want to have it retuned. We'll see what the tuner says about turning off the rear O2 sensors.

I love my Dynatech SuperMaxx system on my 2000 FRC. Install was easy and I did a couple of hours each day. Took about 10 hours over a week. Noticable performance differance!!! Woke the whole thing up with Vararam and Tune!

I installed the exact same set-up on my Y2K cpe, along with the help from my son, we were finished in about 8 hrs. I mated mine up with a set of TI's that I bought from this forum.
Great fit, sound, and performance and no codes whatsoever..

Get a few good heat cycles in them and then re-tighten all associated fasteners....

Same set up here with Corsa Indy.

Congrats on the time by yourself. I did mine about the same time in my garage.

I've had DT's on my car for over 2 years and it will trip the CE light every now and then because of the high flow cats. It's a p420 and p430. I tuned them out so they don't report an error.
