Default another cam question help

ok i got a 2003 z06 with a halltech intake, high flow cats, wcc x-pipe, and b&b bullets. my car is also a daily driver so it can't be to wild and it has to be reliable. i really want a cam that will pass cal. smog and will give me good power from idle all the way to redline, i have a couple of choices that i think might be pretty good but they say it will not pass smog i have to go with a smaller cam. btw my goal is to be able to get 450+ rwhp with ported heads, fast 90mm intake man, and 90mm thottle body later on in the year. any members ever delt with these cams before or have them. thanks, albert.

mti g1 228 232 113
mti x1 230 227 112
mti r1 232 236 114

recommended cam is the mti c2 224 224 112

Why not just bolt on a SC and be done with it? You'll have horsepower on tap, and don't have to crack the motor open.

by any chance do you have a video of your car with the cam.

the reason i dont wan't to go with a sc is because i started to road race my car and there are a couple of forums members that have had heating issues with there car.

In California our smog laws suck. If the smog tester is an A-hole, the sound of the cam can actually cause them to fail you(visual failed inspection). I believe the largest cam I have heard to pass would be a 224/228 114. Larger cammed cars can have some tuning taken out for the test though. Call and talked to local forum tuners who have done them. They'll point you in the right direction. Check my sig for mods and numbers.

You might want to consider ECS's blower cam. Yellow03Z06 got some pretty amazing numbers out of that cam and he lives in CA.
