Blackwing filter cleaning
When I purchased the Blackwing filter for my O4' I neglected to buy the cleaner kit. However, I have a cleaner kit from K&M that I used on my 66'. Does anyone know if a K&M kit (solvent and oil) can be used on the Blackwing filter? Is it the same material? Will it damage the filter? Etc?

Check the search tool bar for that. I used dish soap with warm water and soft brush and it came real clean. Air dry, not a high pressure hose.

Don't use K&N cleaner/oil on a Blackwing air filter. The Blackwing is a synthetic material, the K&N is a cotton material.

I've heard the same thing. I got a specific cleaning kit from Mid America (one of many vendors).

You can use diluted SIMPLE GREEN to clean, but the synthetic media of a DONALDSON/SLP BLACKWING should be sparingly oiled with the specific oil made/sold for that filter media.

Blackwing here too
I used K&N once and then read where you are supposed to use the proprietary Blackwing to re-oil. Go to:

I clean mine with Simple Green and a soft brush and recharge with a mixture of mineral oil and alcohol in a spray bottle.
