I am in the process of a head cam swap and decided to go with a 2 piece front cover. If I decide to change cams (or return to stock) in the future, I wont have to drop the steering rack or remove the balencer. I have a couple of questions:
What gasket did you use?
In looking at how it's manufactured, I dont see a big leak potential where the split is. How are you guys sealinig this area? hi temp RTV?

I just talked to a buddy who installed one last year. His is a QTP, which I think is the same one at Summit. He said, after the bottom piece is installed, apply high temp silicone to the lip of the top piece and mate together.
I'm pretty sure that it will be a bit more difficult to see the mark on the crank gear; but if you think about it, as long as the new cam goes in the same way the old one came out, you really don't need to see the crank gear. You could spend 2 hours aligning the cam gear correctly and still be time ahead of dropping the steering and pulling the balencer.
