I have put on headers, high flow cats, x-pipe and corsa exhaust. I started getting the P1153 code. I have put a brand new sensor on and I still getting the code. The code stats "P1153 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Insufficient Switching Bank 2 Sensor 1. Does anyone have any ideas on why it would still be throwing this code?
I'm also interested in an answer. I just had the same code pop up after letting my car idle for a little bit longer than I normally do.(I also have the same exhaust system)
I was told to unhook the battery cable and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Hook is back up and it should clear the code. Do this after you replace the sensor. I did this yesterday and I am waiting to see what happens. Later
I had this same code pop up about a month after installing LT headers. I believe it has something to do with the change in location of the sensor (further aft). I clear the code and it comes back after several WOT runs in cold weather. There are some threads on this on CF with one suggested solution of drilling holes in the tip of the probe. I have not taken the time to correct this problem yet as it is the middle of winter here.
what headers? How do you have the O2s set up? Did you delete any O2s (there should be four)? Do you have O2 sims for deleted O2sensors or did you program the deleted sensors out?

I have installed SSAC headers with high flow cats and x-pipe. I have all 4 O2 sensors installed. I have replaced the bad sensor and deleted the code. The code came back and after talking to my mechanic about it, he said to unhook the battery and wait 10 minutes. I did this and it has not thrown any more codes yet. It has only been a couple of days so we will see what's up.
These can be turned off in the tune so that you don't see them. I just heard that CT is changing the emissions tests to detect if you have turned off MIL's from showing or being reported (currently their computer can't detect this). Could become quite the hassle for tuned people like me.
My LC1 has been dropping it's connection and and I've been getting codes P1133 AND p1153. I thought the WB sensor might be dying and the 02's might be in a different place with the new headers. It did seem too coincidental that both issues are happening at the same time. The common change has been the headers and I realized that they do not have a bracket connected to the bell housing. Maybe it was a grounding problem? So, I grounded the headers to the bell housing and it has not dropped out all day. It always drops 2-3 times each day. I'll enable the DTC's and see if they come back.
Has anyone experienced this or heard of it and is the aluminum bell housing a good enough ground or am I just lucky and it will all re-occur?
I had a similar code on my LS1 Camaro that had LTs. Kind of made me gunshy about getting them on the C5 as it wouldn't pass an emissions test in that condition.

The DTC's can be disabled and not affect obd2 testing.
I have LG long tube headers no cats and B&B PRT Exhaust, I am still throwing codes after replacing the right bank sonsor with a new one from denso Code p1153, No shorts in the wiring, all is good, BUT, throwing P1153. Sometime I have to drive a few miles before it will come on. ANY IDEAS why?
