Gonna help a friend out with a '00 A4 coupe tomorrow with a weird problem. When the tranny fluid is cold it sticks in Park. Once the temps get up to some warm value (> 100 degrees), it'll come out of Park and work normally.
I'm fluent with M6s, but pretty ignorant when it comes to A4s. Any ideas?
If its the samething that happened to me, its the solenoid located in
the shifter area. For some reason when it fails, its in cold weather. I
simply removed mine. I can now take it out of park without having to
step on the brake, which is the purpose of it.
