Jeremy makes a good point. Flashing chips has a limit before degredation sets in. Typically though its in the 1000's of burn times.
True, but what I meant is that there is the potential for one reason or another (such as the laptop crashes or the cable comes unplugged) to only partially flash the new program in the PCM and render it useless.
All I mean is that LS1 Edit and PCM programming isn't for the average C5 owner.

So, will this eliminate all the "$500 a pop" PCM guys?? Are they merely just running this program now, and we're making them a ton of money?? Not slamming the PCM guys, just curious if we're finally getting access to what these guys (like Steve Cole, etc.) have had for some time now.
I know Steve doesn't use this program. I think it's the R&D of the best tuning parameters that builds their value, plus hardware, overhead, etc...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about them. I'm just curious if this is equivilant to what they do. Nobody has to justify how they make a buck to me, to each his own.

JW, no doubt they use similar techniques, however they are proprietary somewhat. But the approach is the same.
Like Richard said, there will be value to their service for experience. As time passes and more and more folks ramp up to tuning correctly with ls1edit, cole, and others value will diminish.
For the A4, one of the things the tuners do is reduce the torque management during WOT shifts to keep the power up (sort of like powershifting). Does any of the LS1 Edit parameters relate to this feature?

I cant answer that. I will try to find out for you. I would most certainly think that it would.
