OK so I decided today was the day to do a few things to the vette.
I noticed the hard boot on it is not staying up. I looked for some adjustments to the springs but could not find any.
Any one know how to tighten the springs so the boot does not fall down? Or do I need to replace them?
Any good deals on new run flats? Mine are going and will need to be replaced soon. I don't want to spend 2k on them.
What other options are there that people have used and found hold up. Due to gas prices this has now become my DD and my truck sits home most of the time now. Besides I like driving topless more.
As far as tire. Look at getting a non-run flat tire and just get the "Z06 Tire repair" kit. Tire rack has the kits for $39.99, no need to spend 100 bucks on the "official Corvette" Kit. If you are using the Vette as a DD, I would consider a quieter tire, that will last longer also.
The SRT-8's come with the same type of sealant/pump kit, you might be able to get one from those lines as well.
Be warned if you do use the pump with the sealant the tire store will not be happy with you as it makes a huge mess. I know the with the SRT pumps the sealant part is removeable allowing you to simply reinflate the tire without filling it with goo.
I picked up a nail in my tire (very close to the sidewall) this weekend so I was forced to get new backs. I went with the Kumos and they do hook up nice.
The fronts are backordered and I will get them changed soon. Glad they had back ones or my car would not be driving now.
I was impressed how the runflat held up got me home.
I ran the Kumho runflats on my car and they were great.
I recently switched to the regular Kumhos and they seem to be very good too and they cost half as much as the Kumho runflats. I bought a small air compressor and plug-kit for $20 that I keep in the back of the car should I ever get a flat. I've only had one flat tire in my 15 years of driving. All the rest are slow leaks so I think I'll be fine.
I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to the 'hard boot'?

It sounds like the cover that goes over the convertible top when it is down. It is supposed to stay up while you are stowing the top. I am not sure what holds it up. Let me know if you need me to look.
