Default 00 coupe frame sag?

Hey all, i have a 00 6 spd coupe ive had since april and the gaps have always kinda drove me nuts. Im a body guy, but pretty much too lazy to work on my own stuff ever until i have nothing to do. Today is one of those days as my vette is stored in the garage for winter. I beleive my frame is sagging in the middle, my fender gap to the door at the top is about 2mm from touching on both sides, almost like the front end is up in the air quite a bit, anybody ever heard of this? And i feel retarded for asking this, but are the inner fenders on this car adjustable? i thought they were bonded, but if i could adjust those, i could adjust the fenders to move down in the front and move the hood as well, but everything else in the front end pretty much lines up. So im thinking of getting it on the frame rack at work and doing a measurement on it, but my car is lowered and that would be just a big pain in the ***, any suggestions? or has anybody ever seen this and a remedy?

I seriously doubt the hydro formed frame would sag under any conditions... you may have a door alignment problem or a fender alignment, but I would rule out the frame.. its almost bullet proof

... probably just bad panel alignments from the factory. I've seen huge variations on the C5s, and most can be tweaked to re-align the panels and make the gaps much more even.

Seems like a body guy would look in the body service manual for the measuring points and how to adjust the body panels.

well the car does have quite a few miles and i thought maybe if someone flew into a driveway really hard quite a few times it would push the front up, im not familar with how strong the frames are or arent, just a question and also wondering if the inners are adjustable or are they bonded? I dont have a service manual and our computers dont tell us if they are bonded, just the time it pays to replace.

How well do you know the history of the car? It may have been in an accident.

On a Coupe, I'm pretty sure if the frame were sagging, the targa would not fit correctly. Any problems there?

no, targa is fine, so im guessing bad panel alignment...but if i adjust the fenders you are going to see where the old screws indented...do they make a chrome cap kit that can cover that?

The HYDRO FORMED frames on these cars are just about bullet proof!! Hell,,,,,, if you jack the car just right, you can balance it on ONE WHEEL and still OPEN THE DOORS! Been there,,, done that! Just cause I could!

Like Lucky mentioned ,,the car may have been in an accident in it's past or someone removed the body panels and didnt put them back on correctly.

C5 frames dont sag! If it does, it is probably damaged from a previous accident.

I agree, the C5 hydroformed frame is a work of art, one of the strongest (if not THE strongest) frame in the industry. The machine that does this costs millions. The frame sides are one piece, no welds.

C5 frames do NOT sag.
