I just purchased a C5 convertible, all stock with just 1,700 miles on her. Got her on the road this weekend (since we had spring weather here in CT) and I noticed a slight clutch chatter when taking off in first gear. If I up the rpm's at takeoff there is no noticible chatter.
Is there some adjustment that can/should be made or is this OK to have a slight chatter. I'm trying to break in this car and get the bugs out as this car has been a garage queen since new
It shouldn't chatter. It may just be non-use. If it is not slipping I would just drive it some more and see if it settles down. You also may want to bleed the clutch or use the "Ranger method" to clear out the old clutch fluid. There are not adjustments.
A 2003 C5 with the original clutch (and brake) fluid ought to be bled to get rid of accumulated moisture. Here is a procedure for the clutch: Maintain Your Clutch
