Default EOT plug repair ....

In the course of installing my headers, the drivers side snagged the engine oil temperature wire and pulled the two wires out of the plug. Anybody know how to release the pins in the plug so I can replace the wires? I've farted with it using wire, pins, etc. with no success. Can't seem to get the release pin.

What happens if you start the car without the sensor connected? Does it just throw codes?

Thanks.

You will be fine just starting the car with out the oil pressure sensor operating!!!

If you insert a very small screwdriver into the backside of the connector,,,the pin should be able to be pushed out You will need to carefully exanine the connector to see where the retainer pin is located inside the connector.

There are little pins that hold the wires in the connectors. Get a real thin piece or wire, like a coat hanger and slide down on the inside of the connector and push the pin until it releases.

It's not the oil pressure sensor it's the oil temperature sensor.

And, you can buy a replacement plug that comes prewired so all you have to do is cut your existing plug off and splice in the new one.

Heres an example of what a pin looks like once it removed:

Heres an example of a prewired wheel speed connector purchased from the dealer.

The dealer has (should have) an assortment of connectors and spare pins. I had to ask one of the service techs to show the parts guy where the pins were.

Contact Gene Culley at www.gmpartshouse.com and he will hook you op with the correct connectors,

I didn't realize you could get the pins from GM, I bought an assortment of them from www.waytekwire.com.

You most likely did way better with WAYTECH!!! Did you see how much the wheel speed sensor is from the STEALER????????

Thats highway robbery!

I have also figured out that you can go to AUTOZONE and or ADVANCE and order connectors from a catalog that they have!

Hey Bob,

I don't think that's the right link, it's a computer security firm.

Thanks, I was just harassing Bob.

Bob, helped me out by sending me a bunch of PCM pins when I was doing my tranny conversion from an auto to six-speed.

I am going to add it to my growing collection of suppliers.

Thanks.
