I'm betting you can have it PAINTED for less than half that price. Would it be something you really want to take off? I can only imagine there might be residue or something??? Anywho....check a GOOD paint shop and have them paint it. What really looks good is a pin stripe following the edge....Probably have ALL that done for less than that piece of plastic???
Just a question/comment...I see Ecklers or someone sells a kit to fix the "rear end sagging". I do not have that on mine yet, but some must. Wonder if this plastic piece would help or hurt that condition?
I had mine painted and it looks great, always get compliments and matches blackout lights perfectly. I know a guy in Houston, painted it for me for free. Ive known him for years and if anyone is interested I can tell you where to go and he will do it for you cheaper than anywhere in town, and itll look amazing.
I went with this option due to the ability to change my mind. This color yellow if very difficult to paint match, and *if* I ever changed my mind I wanted to make sure that I could reverse it. Also, the product is TOP quality and looks MUCH better than paint in my opinion as it as a slight 'texture' to it.
I like the look, as long as it's quality piece. However, I have doubts as to how well it would look with my pewter.
Is the tape there to help the adhesion process?
yup, i did it when it was about 20 degrees out, still freezing in a heated garage, so all the plastic was very hard and not fun to work with. So i just taped the **** out of it to make sure it stuck in every spot. Also used a hair dryer to help.

Not sure, but if I needed it before, I certainly don't need it now.

It is my opinion that you need to address sagging first .I think the overlay would conform over time to compound situation. They make a product for this but you might try what I did before sagging I think it will still work.I got some quarter round wood molding and forced it in slot in back with a lot of silicone
