Default Another plug and wire question

What is the best combo for plugs and wires for a 2000 C5. I am prepairing for a street tune. My car is stock with the addition of a Vararam.

What is the best anti-seize compound and how is it applied?

How do I work around the metal sleeves when removing and replacing plugs? Will a standard thinwall socket work?

hi temp antisieze will work fine, follow the directions on the package. For your setup, no reason why gm hotwires and iridium plugs won't serve you well. I'm not sure what "metal sleeves" you are referring to, unless you mean the plug wire boot protectors. They come out with the wires, so you don't have to work around them. A standard spark plug socket will work fine, with the appropriate universal and extensions.

I went with Nology hotwires and nology silver plugs. They are pricey but they are the best bar far. Silver is one of the best conductors--far better than platinum or iridium. Also, the nology hotwires are very thick and have grounding straps because the entire wire acts as a large capacitor. I've used them on my 02 Avalanche 8100 as well as my 02 C5. You can get them on ebay for much less than retail and they come in several different colors.

Oh boy,,,,,,another spark plug and wire post that will go 4 pages.

I see you were bit hard by the Nology bug!

Let's start off by exploring why rare metals like platinum or iridium are used on spark-plug tips. Its NOT used to help conduct electricity! Its used to help prevent spark plug tip erosion and increase the longevity of the plug to help maintain engine emissions and performance. So your saying that silver is better? Where is the silver used???? I bet its NOT on the tips! No,,its on the inside of the plug insulator.

So,,,,have you dynoed your car with and without those wallet wrecking wires and plugs???????? What were the results?
