Re: Aftermarket A4 trans? (Slammed Vette)
Yank has a few good ones. You can go from mild to wild with them.
Send me an email if you would like more info.
Thanks,

Re: Aftermarket A4 trans? (Slammed Vette)
I would recommend FLP level 4 transmission. Chuck Johnson at FLP is building me one. I've heared that it is the only proven 4L60E available. This tranny was able to handle Austrian Vette's 211 mph run with no problems. Chuck states that it can handle 500+ rwhp.
He is running a GP on that transmission, $1800 plus core & shipping for the level 4 transmission

Re: Aftermarket A4 trans? (Nitrovette)
I have lot´s of 150 NOS shots and my 211mph topspeed run on
FLP`s level IV tranny now and it still performs great.
It´s the fastest shifting tranny I ever had and is holding the power great.
I also love the vacuum shift modulator they installed!!!!!
I really can recommend that tranny and at the GP price of $ 1.800 it´s absoluteley worth it!!!!!!
If you wanna contact Chuck, the link is in my sig.

When the time comes, I'll be getting a Yank. I've a lot of experience with their converters, all good.

I have the Yank and it seems to be OK so far. I had it at the Cruise In Labor Day. ARE is Beefing up the Trannys now, check with them.
The $1800 sounds good, I paid a lot more.

Besides a higher torque rating, what are some of the benefits of having an aftermarket transmission.

Re: Aftermarket A4 trans? (rschiltz)
I also have a question, when should I consider a performance trans? Nitrous, heads and cam, supercharger? Could the stock trans handle just one of these mods?
