Default 50,000 mile service?

A thread in OT about servicing BMWs made me think of this...

My '03 Z06 is coming up on the magic 50,000 mile mark. Does Chevy recommend any particular service items at this point? I think I perused the owner's manual a while back and didn't find anything, but I might have imagined that...

I don't have my manual on me now, but I seem to recall that at 50,000m you should have the trans. filter and fluid replaced as well as diff. fluid. This was for an 02 coupe. Hope that helps.

I just did the diff., rotors and pads for my 50,000 service. Trans next week.

Mine goes in today for the 50! At 50, the maual explains certain driving conditions warrant transmission fluid change (lotsa stop and go in heat). The manual also calls for a filter change at 45, but I'm doing that today along with the trans fluid and oil change. service at 50 for the vette looks much lighter/easier thank my MBZ.

I dont have the manual on hand either, but for an 04 coupe, i believe it needs to go in at 25k, 50k, and 100k ...

Here ya go:

45,000 Miles (75 000 km)

Inspect engine air cleaner filter if you are driving in dusty conditions.
Replace filter if necessary.

An Emission Control Service

50,000 Miles (83 000 km)
Change automatic transmission fluid and filter if the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions:

– In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches
90F (32C) or higher.

– In hilly or mountainous terrain.

– Uses such as high performance operation.

If you do not use your vehicle under any of these conditions, change the fluid
and filter at 100,000 miles (166 000 km). Manual transmission fluid doesn’t
require change.

since my goal is to keep the moving parts alive, I have serviced the A4 twice in my 27k miles of driving.

Any service costs at my local Chevy dealer is just pennies compared to keeping my girlfriend's Mercedes E-class fully maintained.

I do like Chevrolets!
