Ok help is needed
is this a common thing to go wrong ? does anyone have an idea other then dealer to get this part? Thanks
My local guy fixed mine by putting a thin piece of sheet metal in the socket area and it was either to make the socket fit tighter or for grounding , i forget ,, its been years and i never had the problem again .
The right front amber light is both your DRL (Daytime Running Light) and your turn signal. Both functions are controlled by the BCM through Relay 38 (2001 wiring manual). Check out the relay.
Are you sure the ground for the lamp is good ?? The ground is provided through Splice Pack 102 (SP102) to ground point G102 ... see Bill Curlee's sticky about electrical issues at the top of this forum for more info on electrical issues.
Are you sure the replacement lamp is good ?? I spent hours trying to figure out why a light wouldn't work, and finally discovered that by swapping it to the other side of the car, the "new" bulb was bad.
See if the BCM has any DTC posted, if you're not sure how to do this, see .....
https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...D=26&TopicID=1
and post any/all codes the DIC displays.

this isnt some high tech device... I use mine all the time to check if a bulb is good, from a 1.5 V Bulb ,12 V bulb to a 120V bulb. Check batteries from 1.5 Volts V to 120 V, actually much higher. it will test to see if a socket is hot, it will check continuity. A 2 second concentricity test would varify if a New bulb is good. in two seconds you can check and see if the socket is good. a 12 V test lamp ( cost about 5 dollars ) is also verry good. it test 12V to ground connections.. I highly doubt the BCM is bad.
Good Luck
