Hey guys, as you all know, Los Angeles was hit with a good week of rain. Yesterday around 8pm, I decided to go for a spin and get myself something to eat. I turn the car on, let her warm up for a bit, when I turned the windshield wipers to the "on" mode, i noticed it made this "tick" sound before it went into the on position. Once in the on position, it worked fine. This sound was new and it never happened before. Is this a potential sign that perhaps the windshield wiper motor is failing? I turned it on and off several times and even this morning, that sound is present now. It was never there before. What do you guys think it is? any suggestions will help. Thank you.
Check the drain hole on the drivers side under the wiper cowling. If it gets cloged up it will fry the wiper control module. That is normally what goes bad. The part will cost about $100 and will take a coulple of hours to replace.
ok i just went to check up on the car. I opened the hood and turned the wipers on. as it was wiping, I was paying attention to the arm and rotator that sits under the grill. I noticed with each revolution, it would make a "click" sound as if its either falling int place or its winding up. I'm not sure if that is the sound it makes because I never heard it before investigating today. The wipers seem to work fine though.
I'm just concerned because it never made that click before beginning to wipe

After I changed my wiper motor I heard this "click" . It came from the wiper motor/transmission unity and the little silver pin above the painted red circle.
Grease it generous with something like ball-bearing grease and I'm pretty sure taht it will be quiet after a few minutes.
