I dont know if this helps at all, but one thing you should do is check out his feedback and see what their customers have to say about the same unit, word of mouth is the best.
I've had mine for nearly two years with no issues. When I initially installed it I could actually hear the air being sucked into it! Ran straight pipes and have been having a blast ever since!
Those thing aren't any more a cold-air kit than your stock setup; to get the advantage of better air, you need something like VaraRam, Callaway Honker, or Hurricane that draws air from outside the engine bay.
I've had stock airbox, Z06 airbox & Blackwing. All were about the same in 1/4 mile runs. Switched to Callaway Honker, 1/4 mile runs improved, both ET and mph.
It's not so much about getting more air, it's about getting better air. PCM pulls timing when Intake Air Temp goes up.
What do you think the media filtering capabilities are of an intake system made off shore and sells for $68.00?
But, if it "sounds" better and "looks" better...it's your car to do with as you please.
I've had a couple of these, and they work great. Most of them only have LS1 sized couplers, so some modification might be in order. However, for the money they work great. I run one on my NASA car.

but you can tell by testing the oil for silica and see how shot it is
I get a little nervous about buying these no name brand parts. I am a firm believer in YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, Wait till you get the money and buy the Vararam you won't be disappointed. Do it once Do it right I say Good luck with your choice PS Just my 2cents
I think for the money you will be buying a nice sound. That's about it.To check the filters run your hand on the inside of the chrome tube after some miles and see how much dust you get.I think the Y will cause some turbulence.I would rather have one large filter. If you are willing to spend more money for the right part first time I would go for something like the Callaway system.
Take care.
I just bought a BBK cold air I will let you know how it is when I install it this weekend.
Still not a Cold Air (despite what BBK calls it) unless you cut your shroud; otherwise you're sucking in the same hot, underhood air as the stock setup.
Fits all 1997-04 Corvette models - including Z06 models
New lightweight aluminum inlet casting
Available in titanium or chrome finish
High-flow conical filter Add 10-15 rear wheel horsepower and show-stopping looks
System can be installed in just minutes
For about the same price of a cheap plastic cold-air kit - 1997-03 Corvette owners can now purchase one of our all-new lightweight aluminum systems. With its large conical filter and smooth cast finish in titanium or chrome - this BBK kit delivers maximum performance as well as unmatched great looks.
BudgetPlan1 is right you have to cut the fan shroud in order to truly get cold air into your filters. I have the k&N FIPK and it was a very easy process.
